Taking time for a health screening is a small step that can make a meaningful difference in staying informed about our health.
As part of Project Sunkalp, a cancer screening camp was conducted at Koshi Innovations, Madurantakam, bringing preventive healthcare and cancer screening services closer to employees and the local community.
A total of 70 beneficiaries participated in the screening camp, including 28 men and 42 women.
The camp provided:
• 40 iBreast Examinations
• 70 Oral Examinations
• 19 Pap Smear Tests
Cancer may not always show noticeable warning signs in its early stages. Regular screening can help identify suspicious changes early and encourage timely medical consultation and follow-up.
Workplaces can play an important role in encouraging preventive healthcare by making health screening more accessible and giving employees an opportunity to prioritise their wellbeing.
For many people, regular screening can be difficult due to time constraints, distance, cost, or limited awareness. Project Sunkalp works to reduce these barriers by bringing screening services directly into communities and workplaces.
Every person who participates in a screening camp takes a proactive step towards understanding and protecting their health. The participation of 42 women, along with the availability of breast and cervical cancer screening, also highlights the importance of accessible women's health services.
Through Project Sunkalp, Kalpavriksham Trust continues to work with workplaces, PHCs, local communities, healthcare professionals, and CSR partners to expand access to cancer screening across Madurantakam.
